In 2019, Braiden Smith lost his corporate job the same week Kaylee was nine months pregnant with their first child. Instead of waiting for the next opportunity, they built one. Kaylee had just refinished a desk — posted it on Facebook Marketplace, sold it within hours — and KB Custom Creations was born in their garage.
What started as furniture refinishing grew quickly. During the early months of the pandemic, when new furniture was backordered and homeowners were staring at the same four walls with nowhere to go, the phone kept ringing. KB Painting expanded into full-scale painting and cabinet refinishing. Then a second location.
