Our prep-first process
A stain applied over dirty, wet, or unsound wood won’t last. That’s why prep takes as much time as the application itself. We wash every surface, let it dry to the moisture content the product requires, and address any soft or cracked boards before we open a can. We also test the existing surface for compatibility when there’s a prior stain in place, so we’re not guessing about adhesion.
If boards need replacement before staining, we’ll note it in the estimate. We’d rather tell you upfront than stain over a problem.
